Free CNA Training - Taking Advantage of the Opportunity

Job employment for nursing assistants is estimated to grow by 19 percent from 2008 to 2018, according to the Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is faster than the average growth for all occupations. As the number of the elderly population continues to increase, the need for nursing assistants that will provide them long term care needs will increase, as well. It, then, makes a lot of sense for those that want to enter this field to begin their CNA training today.

The training courses for certified nursing assistants, typically, costs somewhere around a few hundred dollars to a little bit more than a thousand. That’s not much considering the trainee will be in a very long and stable career after completing the course and be certified. However, there’s an even cheaper way to get the training and CNA certification. In fact, they wouldn’t even cost anything. Yes, free CNA training.

Hospitals, nursing homes, and other similar facilities often offer free training for aspiring nursing assistants, provided they meet certain requirements. Typically, the facility that offers the free training and the trainee will have an agreement, usually a signed contract, stipulating that the trainee will work as a CNA in the said facility.

Most Federal governments also offer free CNA training to people living in their area. The requirements to be eligible for the free training vary. However, people accepted to the program, often, are those with financial problems or under a particular social class, as set by the specific Federal government. They can even try to get a scholarship grant, provided they qualify, from certain schools and universities that are offering this type of training.

A career as a nursing assistant is a truly viable one, offering excellent job security and stable source of income. Qualified individuals that want to take advantage of free CNA training can expect a rewarding career ahead of them.
